Danny A. Milner, Jr., MD, MSc, MBA, is the Chair of Pathology at Olive View–UCLA Medical Center in Sylmar, California, where they lead clinical and administrative initiatives to advance diagnostic medicine and patient care for LA County. Dr. Milner also serves as the DHS-wide lead for Pathology.
Dr. Milner previously served as Chief Medical Officer of the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), where they oversaw global health programs and laboratory strengthening efforts in more than 30 countries. They followed that with the role of Executive Director at the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), guiding international collaborations with more than 40 partners in 46 countries to improve access to cancer diagnostics and treatment worldwide.
Board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology with additional training in microbiology, Dr. Milner earned their MD from the University of Alabama School of Medicine, a Master of Science in Epidemiology from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and an MBA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Their career began with work in Africa as a medical student, developing a lifelong commitment to expanding pathology and laboratory services in resource-limited settings.
An internationally recognized leader in global pathology, Dr. Milner has authored more than 200 publications, contributed to the establishment of cancer and infectious disease diagnostic programs in multiple countries, and continues to integrate research, teaching, and advocacy into their clinical leadership role.
