Her Story Is Our Story
There is a woman in nearly every story we tell.
She is the physician leaning over a microscope long after her shift has ended.
She is the medical student studying late into the night.
She is the mother who has postponed her own checkup one too many times.
She is the grandmother holding together three generations with quiet strength.
She is the donor who gives because she believes someone else deserves a chance.
And she is reflected in the above photo — in the women who serve on our Board and in our staff, whose leadership and dedication carry this mission forward every day.
This Women’s History Month, we honor her.
Because our mission is not just about advancing pathology.
It is about protecting the women who hold families, communities, and futures together.
When Women Lead in Medicine
In laboratories across the country and around the world, women pathologists are guiding some of the most important medical decisions a patient will ever receive. Their expertise shapes diagnoses. Their compassion reminds us that behind every test is a human story.
Through scholarships, mentorship, and education, the CAP Foundation supports the next generation of women who are stepping into careers where their voices and vision matter deeply.
When we invest in women in pathology, we invest in better outcomes for everyone.
When Women Need Care
And sometimes, the woman who carries everyone else needs someone to carry her.
Through programs like See, Test & Treat, the CAP Foundation helps provide critical health screenings to women who may not otherwise have access. For some, it is their first screening in years. For others, it is the moment something is detected early enough that it is still treatable. Just like Diane’s story.
When Women Give
Many of the hands that lift this mission forward belong to women. Women who are increasingly becoming the primary decision makers regarding charitable giving within their households. Women who understand the quiet power of service. Women who give not because they have to, but because they care.
They are building a future where women in medicine are supported, where women in communities are screened, and where women everywhere have access to quality care.
This Women’s History Month, we celebrate the women who diagnose, who take care of themselves, who give, and the communities whose lives are changed because they do.
At the CAP Foundation, their stories are not separate from our mission.
They are our mission.
